Tuesday, 19 September, 2017, Osu- Premium Bank partners with InGenius Africa and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) to produce a television and radio project known as “SOLUTIONS.”

A press launch was conducted at the Head Office of Premium Bank at Osu to officially announce the news of the partnership to the public. Present at the launch were Mr. Tsonam Akpeloo, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of AGI, the Managing Director of InGenius Africa and the Managing Director of Premium Bank, Mr. Kwasi Tumi.

SOLUTIONS is a TV & RADIO program woven around the dealings of a business consultancy dubbed “SOLUTIONS.” It is a program which follows the continued growth of the young consultancy and its dealings with diverse business entities, especially those involved in agribusiness, for which it would consult. Solutions seeks to educate Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) in Ghana on ways to grow and have a better life.


Mr. Tumi spoke to the audience in attendance of how the partnership with InGenius and AGI was a “no-brainer” to support the initiative of “SOLUTIONS,” since it was in line with the bank’s vision to be the leading SME bank in Ghana by providing advisory and financial support to SMEs with the potential to grow. He further pointed out that through this partnership, the SME sector will become an easier playing field for all institutions who seek to do business and hopes “SOLUTIONS” will have a significant and successful educational impact on SMEs in Ghana.

Other dignitaries at the press launch included Jacqueline Benyah, Deputy Managing Director of Premium Bank along with the following Heads of Department; Mr. Joseph Asantey-Chief Risk Officer, Mrs. Ellen Aboah-Head of Finance and Strategy, Mr. Nathaniel Hegbor-Head of Legal and Recoveries, Mr. Emmanuel Annoh- Head of IT and Operations and Mr. Emmanuel Adom- Head of Human Resources. The media partners who were in attendance were TV3, Multimedia Group Limited, Business & Financial Times, and Graphic Communications Group.



Friday, 21 July, 2017, Ridge- Premium Bank announced a GH₵5 Million integrated credit facility for members of the Ghana Startup Club 100 through its HelpStation initiative.

The announcement which was made by the MD, Mr Kwasi Tumi during a special business forum and networking cocktail held in honour of the 100 most outstanding startups in Ghana, who were announced as members of the first cohort of the Ghana Startup Club 100 at the recent Ghana Startup Awards.

In a special interaction with Ekow Mensah, CEO of The African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE), curators of the Ghana Startup Club 100, he mentioned the intentions of Premium Bank is a prayer answered for most startups in Ghana and hopes startups will make the best use of the opportunity to expand their businesses to become more innovative and globally competitive.

Beyond the integrated credit facility, Premium Bank will also be providing digital solutions to the various startups to aid their online financial transaction.

The Ghana Startup Club 100 (GSClub 100) is an annual ranking of the top 100 most outstanding start-up companies in Ghana spearheaded by The Startup Network a network under TANOE.

Prestigious and coveted; the Ranking celebrates Ghana’s entrepreneurs and innovators. It offers a unique chance for small to medium scale businesses to be recognised for their hard work, commitment and of course, success.


The second edition of the Premium Bank Ghana StartUp Awards was held on Thursday, July 13 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra under the theme “Honouring Innovative & Globally Competitive StartUps.”

The Ghana Startup Awards, sponsored by the bank and powered by the African Network of Entrepreneurs (TANOE) is designed to give startups exposure, recognition and support to enable them become globally competitive and rewards their works and contributions to the Ghanaian economy. The event brought together a host of SME's and Start Up companies to network and share business ideas under one roof.

Ekow Mensah, the CEO of TANOE and Chairman of the Ghana StartUp Awards noted “it is a giant step in the right direction in giving startups the needed exposure, public recognition and support.”

In all fifteen awards were conferred on outstanding Start Up companies who excelled during the under review. More than 150 startups in Ghana are up for awards in various categories including Media, Agriculture, Health, Education, FinTech and Technology.
